This series is a collaboration brought to you by myself and Alex Soler-Lovell, to share what we’re loving. I mean, it’s kind of like the highlights of our Slack conversations but we wanted to bring you into it. Let us know what you’re loving in the comments below!
ONE// Lysande’s fleece ear warmers! They made my recent fishing trip extra enjoyable and they are available for preorder on Kickstarter beginning this Thursday, August 1! The perfect gift for everyone on your list, they’ll ship in time for the holidays.
TWO// The top knot is my go-to summer look and in this tutorial video I show you how I style it in under two minutes.
THREE// Alex Morgan won best female athlete at the 2019 ESPYs (can we drop the “female”, please?) and the USWNT won best team!
FOUR// This movie about a bomb dog handler and her dog in Iraq (available on Amazon Prime). Watch with a Kleenex box nearby.
FIVE// Darrell and I were looking for a feel good movie the other night and landed on “Set it Up” (available on Netflix). While the description is a bit cliche-sounding in the romcom genre, it totally exceeded our expectations and we agreed that it was one of the best movies we watched this year.
SIX// This brilliant planner that was designed by the company that did the branding for Lysande! Support the Kickstarter campaign to bring their vision to life!
SEVEN// Serena Williams wrote a personal essay about her US Open final against Naomi Osaka. Williams is one of my heroes and her honesty, integrity, and sheer brilliance brought me to tears.
EIGHT// This illustration from @andyjpizza.
NINE// Summer is the season of road trips and what better way to spend one than with a binge worthy podcast? Below are my favorites:
TEN// I’ve become known for my watermelon salad over the years and it is one of the simplest recipes in my arsenal.
- 1 Watermelon
- 2 T Balsamic Vinegar
- 3 Limes worth of lime juice
- 2 T EVOO
- Juice from watermelon
- 1 Bunch Basil
- Feta cheese to taste
Cut watermelon into squares or use melon baller. Combine all ingredients in the first section and refrigerate until chilled. I add the juice from the watermelon because when it melds together with the other ingredients it makes a delicious drink for hot days! Add basil and feta when you’re ready to serve the watermelon. ENJOY!
