There is a new wire-framed headwrap on the website, thanks to my dear friend (and founder of SheQuipped! and model!) Jessica Reid (@msjreid on Instagram). Several months ago she offered to take me to the African market in Harlem where I shopped for African batiks with her and her mom. After making and shipping the custom headwraps, Jessica and I got together at her favorite cafe – Cassava House – for avocado toast, fresh pressed juice, and a photo shoot! But really, you have to add Cassava House to your list of places to try if you live in/around NYC. The food is THAT good and the murals and artwork are breathtaking.
Jessica wore the “Sidewalk” wire-framed headwrap with a stunning, pale yellow dress and green earrings, highlighting my favorite thing about this fabric: there are bright, colorful blocks integrated into the brown and beige pattern, so it can be easily paired with bold hues or more neutral colors, always creating a natural, grounded look.
Rachel Anyanwu – @followtheflower on Instagram – is a floral designer and provided the flowers for this shoot! (Keep an eye out for a blog post coming soon about Rachel!)
